Rincon Mexicano restaurant on Euclid has closed, might reopen

Rincon Mexicano, a longtime fixture on Euclid Avenue, has closed, at least for now. Owner Veronica Salas said she hopes the closing will be temporary.

The Mexican restaurant has been in the spot above Charlie Brown’s bar since 1992, Salas said, and she doesn’t want loyal customers to worry. The family is weighing when or whether to reopen, she said. The restaurant and bar, popular with University of Kentucky students and with those in the Chevy Chase neighborhood, closed Sunday.

The family’s other restaurant, Rincon Mexicano at 3901 Harrodsburg Road, remains open with its regular hours.
